My comment go beyond the supposed capture of the AUV, it is primarily about Trump’s credibility at this stage. Did you fail to see any of that, and if not, what have you to say about it? Yes, we have no firm confirmation that Iran captured the thing. That may be verifiable with the passage of time. The economic damage that has and is being done has soiree that much more of his base, even if they weren’t particularly pissed about the war making itself. Then there is the damage done by tariffs, which he explicitly stated would reduce our tax burden ask individuals, and would even provide us refunds at some future point. Again, that has not been fulfilled, and I maintain it won’t be. He has granted massive windfall refunds to several large corporations who paid tariffs on their imports, and then pass led those through to their customers. So, in point of fact, OUR refunds were given to others to who they weren’t due.
He also promised massive cuts from DOGE and refunds to taxpayers on account of all the money saved. DOGE was a short lived publicity stunt, and the savings realized were a fraction of what was postulated, assuming those even last. I honestly don’t care about the refunds at this point, but I do care greatly about his easy come, easy go attitude towards unfunded expenditures that now have us in over $40T in debt. That is also contributing significantly to inflation on a forward basis.
So, just with what I’ve typed above, 3 central tenets of his 2024 campaign have been outright lies, as he goes in the polar opposite direction of each, upon gaining a second term in office. Irrespective of any action or inaction by congress, he owns those. So, despite your hope that he is “fighting the good fight”, I maintain he isn’t doing any such thing, and further, that he has no intention of doing so anytime before his term is over.
In closing, I really have to wonder if those still singing his praises (except for the Zionists and neocons, who will never abandon him, so long as he caters to their singularly important policy) will ever come to a point where they can look at his overall job performance and find serious fault with it.
