The New York Draft Riots occurred in July 1863, when the anger of working-class New Yorkers over a new federal draft law during the Civil War sparked five days of some of the bloodiest and most destructive rioting in U.S. history. Hundreds of people were killed, many more seriously injured, and Black New Yorkers were often the target of the rioters’ violence.

New York City Divided Pre-Civil War

As the business capital of the nation, New York City had not welcomed the onset of the Civil War, as it meant losing the South as an important trading partner.

Cotton was an extremely valuable product for New York’s merchants: Before the Civil War, cotton represented 40 percent of all the goods shipped out of the city’s port. And long after the slavery trade was made illegal in 1808, the city’s underground market in enslaved people continued to thrive.

When the Civil War broke out in 1861, there was even talk of New York seceding from the Union itself, so entwined were the city’s business interests with the Confederate States.

The condition of White people in the Western World reminds me of how some healthy bee colonies suffer mysterious collapses. They have plenty of honey and appear free from disease, and yet they will sometimes decide to abandon the hive for no apparent reason or become sickly and decline in population until one day they disappear.

These collapses are often accompanied by mysterious conspiracy theories about electromagnetism or global warming or pesticides. It’s impossible to know what exactly the cause is in every instance, but usually the problem is something happening inside the hive itself: Foreign parasites like the varroa mite introduced into the hive as a result of globalization; parasites the European honey bee has no evolutionary survival strategy against.

The bees that fare the worst against these invasive species that latch onto their bodies and suck their fat and spread disease, are the bees that have been most domesticated. They have been managed by commercial honey producers and thrive in these micromanaged environments. But when something changes in these environments they are ill equipped to respond. The process of natural selection has been replaced by the unnatural selection guided by the bee breeder who selects solely for honey production.

In the wild, feral bees also fall victim to these parasites. But the success of a feral bee colony is not decided by a honey producer trying to maximize profits, its decided by their ability to reproduce. This means colonies that become resistant to the diseases carried by the parasites or colonies that develop behaviors like obsessive grooming that remove the parasites, become the winners.

Conversely, the commercial bees suffer a different fate. The honey producers use artificial means to attack the problem. They will gas the hives with oxalic acid vapor, formic acid, or synthetic miticides hoping to dose them with just enough poison to kill the mites but keep the bees alive. This means the hives that are rewarded with reproduction aren’t the bees that have the strongest defenses against the mites, but those that best tolerate the poison used to kill them and still produce honey.

I feel like that is what is happening to Whites in the West right now. The system isn’t rewarding those who develop the best natural defenses against foreign parasitism, but those that most reliably tolerate the ideological and administrative treatments that keep the honey flowing. The parasites continue to adapt under natural selection and the host population is kept under artificial selection for compliance with the treatment. The longer the cycle runs, the more dependent Whites become on ever changing interventions, and the higher the eventual cost of allowing natural selection to resume becomes.

There is no way to vote ourselves out of this tyranny. Both parties have sold out the people and they want us dead. A third party is once again being considered but the voting system is rigged and the states make it very hard to get candidates who are not Democrats or Republicans on the ballot.

Accountability for their actions is always the number one fear of people in positions of influence, power, and authority once the consequences of their terrible policies can no longer be denied. And almost everywhere but China and Russia, it is clear that the principles and policies that everyone once believed were a) inevitable and b) eternal have proven to be complete and utter failures in every society that adopted them.

Which is why we’re going to see everything from wars to aliens to apocalypses to climate change catastrophes to democratic dictatorships in desperate attempts to avoid accountability. And yet, history teaches that the reckoning will arrive eventually, no matter what the elites do. Clown World is doomed and every single elite clown knows it.

Lately this loss of trust has had me thinking about the American Wild West. Not the Hollywood version—the real one.

Back then, almost every man who wanted to stay alive carried a revolver on his hip. It wasn’t for show. You never knew when some mean-eyed bastard might decide your horse, your money, or your life was worth more to him than it was to you.

The sensible ones stayed ready. They watched people. They didn’t assume good intentions just because someone smiled and said howdy. Trust was something you earned slowly, usually after a man had proven he wouldn’t sell you out the first time it became convenient.

I keep coming back to that because it feels uncomfortably close to where we are now. The difference is the wolves don’t need to hide behind a bandana anymore. They wear white coats, or sit in glass offices, or smile at you from a television screen while they tell you what you need to do for your own good.

And the sheep-types? They didn’t just follow along during Covid. A lot of them became enthusiastic enforcers.

The masked Karens. The vaccine passport enthusiasts. The ones who genuinely seemed to enjoy punishing others for non-compliance. I saw longtime friends and even family members do things I would have sworn they were incapable of. And they did it without a second thought. That’s what really got to me—not the betrayal itself, but how easily it came to them. How little it seemed to cost them.

War On Iran: – Another TACO – Iran’s Need To Escalate

Once again the U.S. president threatened to bomb Iran to smithereens. Once again he pulled back, while, once again, claiming that Iran was begging for negotiations, which, once again, Iran denied.

It is the fifth time Trump TACOed on bombing Iran.

Last Saturday, while the U.S. military was getting ready to (again) bomb Iran. Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of Iran, picked up the phone and called up his colleagues in the Arab Gulf states. He read them lists of the individual targets in their countries which Iran would destroy should Trump, for once, do what he promised.

The Gulf countries consulted each other. Mohammad bin Sultan, the Saudi ruler, was chosen to tell Trump – in diplomatese – to shut the fuck up:

HRH the Crown Prince stressed the need to prioritize dialogue to reduce escalation and the importance of making every possible effort to achieve calm that paves the way for diplomatic solutions, preserves the region’s security and stability, and prevents a wider conflict whose repercussions would affect regional and international security and stability.

Without exporting oil Saudi Arabia would not be able to import U.S. weapons. It would have to sell treasuries to finance its living.

Explaining such second order effects might well have been what moved Trump:

The crown prince also asked for clarity over U.S. strategy on Iran and the planned strikes, the officials familiar with the matter said.

Behind the scenes, Gulf countries are frustrated with what they see as a lack of a clear strategy from the U.S. as the war drags on, subjecting their territories to frequent Iranian attacks, people familiar with the matter said.

Iran no longer believes in a peace deal. It is content to keep going until the U.S. fundamentally changes its hostile strategy.

But Iran is unlikely to wait for the U.S. next strike. It will instead soon start its own escalation. There will be more ‘surprises’ for U.S. ships and installations.

The Strait of Hormuz will stay closed. Additionally the Bab al-Mandab exit from the Red Sea is closed for Saudi exports. Iran will keep it that way until the economic consequences will make themselves felt more urgently in Donald Trump’s own country.

The man-child in the White House it out of options but also too stubborn to give in.

The last PATCON at the TEB (Tactical Emporium and BBQ) Community Center was almost eight years ago in 2018. Here is the link for the videos.

If you watched the videos or attended, you know that it consisted of speakers presenting a wide range of subjects concerning the state of the Republic and preparedness. I have considered hosting another PATCON lately and I have noticed some comments concerning meeting around a campfire.

I discussed this yesterday with Concerned American and asked for some input. While this is tentative, we are looking at September 19th or 20th (or both).

I personally am finished listening to other people lecture me on our nation’s demise, divisions, wars and bankruptcy. I am suggesting roundtable discussions on predetermined topics such as what tenets are required to rebuild or build a better country such as secure borders, property rights and freedom. Each topic would have a moderator but attendees would be providing the input. I will caution people that cogent and sapient forethought would be appreciated.

We have space for camping and firewood for campfires.

Let me know your thoughts on attendance, food, topics and length of the event if you think one day is not enough.
