This is why I argue the system is broken and needs to be burned to the ground and re-built. Think about the circumstances here. Her qualifications, irrelevant. Safety to the nation, irrelevant. Purpose on the committee, irrelevant. What is her purpose then? A bargaining chip in a completely unrelated contest.
The system is broken. It doesn’t work anymore. Argue amongst yourselves when and why, irrelevant. It’s broken beyond repair. Now what?
Burn it to the ground, hang the traitors, and start over as it was written, not interpreted. That’s what got us into this mess, but I’d digress, that’s a separate conversation.
