I live just sw of Olathe, ks. Heart of Johnson Co ks, surrounded by light pollution and I can see the aurora naked eye.

Yep. Been watching this one carefully. Could see a bit of red in the sky last night here in NC… nothing like the May 2024 storm, but tonight may be different… the biggest flare has not even arrived yet, and it’s substantial. Right after sunset we should be watching.
Evidently all amateur radio propagation at the moment is down, and when the big flare arrives, we may experience mobile phone issues, grid issues, and more.
