Considering the low IQ and utter lack of common sense demonstrated by your typical driver the LAST thing I would want is to have millions of these morons zooming around the skies.

Never going to happen. First, most people are idiots and can’t drive properly and safely on the ground. No way they can handle airborne transport, even with automated guidance and control. Which brings me to my second point:
Elon has failed to deliver full self driving of ground based vehicles, and will continue to for the foreseeable future. The tech to do it at an acceptable rate of reliability (which effectively needs to be 100%} just isn’t possible. It’ll be even more difficult in the air without as many tangible “cues” that can be “seen” and interpreted by the computer to aid in guidance and detection of interfering objects.
