Thank you, Wes, for the most lucid analysis so far on 3i/Atlas. There is so much garbage out there that it is getting difficult to wade through it all.

Well, we had a good run….

Actual voice recording from Control Center of 3I/Atlas:
“I say we nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”

Interesting content, despite the way overblown clickbait title.

Well, interesting. A little drama, to be sure, and I can say this because this topic actually is in my wheelhouse. As one example, the creator’s subject of the comet approaching perihelion (approximately right now – https://atlascomet.com/) indicating that this is a time of violence for comets, is ordinarily true with actual comets that orbit our sun, since they approach the sun much closer than Mercury in most cases. This “comet” does NOT orbit the sun, so perihelion is not the correct word to use, as it defines the closest point to the sun IN IT’S ORBIT. Since 3I/Atlas does not orbit the sun, it’s not technically accurate. The other point is that it’s closest approach is still significantly further away from the sun than the Earth ever gets. SO, non-starter there.
Something else. On it’s current trajectory, it makes it’s closest approach to the Earth on 18 December 2025 at 167 million miles, which makes it’s closest approach to Earth still almost twice the distance between the Earth and the sun.
I’m still of this opinion this is just a random object passing through the solar system, and nothing more.

Okay, going to correct myself. The closest approach of 3I/Atlas to the sun would indeed be considered perihelion, even though the comet does not orbit the sun.

So you may be famiar with its flight path intersecting Mars? I’d heard the path the object has taken is too perfect to be random? Allegedly its been using gravity assist from planets far too perfectly to just be happenstance?
I agree it appears to just be a piece of space junk, but the planet-swinging thing caught my attention.

God stated in his word there would be signs in the sun, moon and stars prior to his return and we are watching more strange sights in heavens then ever before.
