Why Europe Dominates the Freedom Rankings

Europe accounts for most of the world’s highest-scoring countries, led by the Nordics and Western Europe. Strong electoral systems, independent courts, press freedom, and protections for civil liberties helped countries like Finland, Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands rank near the top globally.

    The Decline of the U.S.

Alongside Bulgaria and Italy, the United States had one of the steepest declines in its score in 2025 among countries classified as Free. The world’s leading superpower fell to a score of 81, its lowest on record, tying South Africa and falling behind Panama (82).

Over the past two decades, the U.S. score has slipped by 12 points, driven by rising polarization and political violence. The 2025 decline was caused in part by government efforts to crack down on nonviolent expression by citizens and noncitizens alike.

The weakening of anticorruption safeguards and enforcement practices by the new U.S. presidential administration was also cited as contributing to the lower score compared to previous years.

    Germany 95! Now, I know they’re full of ****.

UK, 92. Subject to immediate arrest for inconvenient social media.

USA, much less at 81. Data centers being built, driving up electricity prices. You’re the data. 1984 style cameras everywhere.

  • A Harmless Man is a Useless Man

From birth, you have been declawed, your spirit tamed, your vitality castrated through conditioning and relentless psychological warfare.

Most are consumed by it, swallowed whole by the beast. They become adherents of the system, hopeless slaves to false gods. With no spark left and no mind of their own, they regurgitate slogans and ready-made sentences, forever dancing to their masters’ strings.

Your triumph is their shame. You are everything they are not, and cannot be, and so they despise you, relishing the prospect of your fall.

Those who endure, who emerge on top without surrender have passed a crucial test. They are the gladiators of this age: souls cast into the arena to fight against insurmountable odds.

And so, from the furnace they emerge, razor-sharp, iron-minded, and unbroken.

It matters not what has brought you here. What matters is that you have made it this far, and that the journey is far from over.

Always becoming through overcoming, through eternity. To the future!

  • Weighing the Decision on Comments

When this country collapses, are you prepared for internal strife in your community? What about mental illness? What about warlords, gangs or politicians who will not give up their “power”?

    Consider the following two comments:

Hmm. Splitting hairs, avoidance, backpedaling, promotion of paganism, heavy use of an AI…things seem to be a-changing here. Whatevs, not my house, not my rug.

    And

Fuck you for moderating my words. Seriously, fuck you. My family built this fucking country. My cousin wrote the constitution. My cousins wrecked tyranny. Fuck you and your fucking feelings.

This is a sample of comments which are deleted from the site. As I have put rules for comments on the site and have written several posts concerning decorum, I know that this is just part of the work required to provide and maintain a website.

The first comment is a typical example of what I call a “hit and run”. Accusations are presented with no facts or basis and then the “nevermind” closing. These comments are mainly from trolls trying to denigrate the site. This type of comment is increasing which is why I have been a little less forgiving in some of my replies lately.

The second comment is an example of someone who has had enough and is lashing out irrationally. I don’t know why he thought his comments were being moderated or what his point was. What are you going to do with someone like this in your AO in the future?

I do not want people to think that these are isolated examples. I still delete the calls for open murder, the use of the “n” word (mostly) and anything else that could reflect poorly on this site.

The easy solution would be to turn comments off. That would save me about an hour each and every day that I never get back. But that would also not allow people to post comments with more information or a means to express their thoughts. Comments also give me feedback about what is happening across the nation.

I have received more new subscribers to the site in the past week than in the past three months. I also have increasing failed attempts to log on to the site to hack it. For those who come to this site to learn, thank you. For those who come to sow dissension, prepare for a bleak future when your survival requires good character.

For those who question my faith, I ask why? I know that religion is one of the main tools used to sow division. I believe that religion is a personal issue that should be nurtured and tested in order to grow spiritually. Instead, man uses it for war, genocide and division.

I will keep comments on for now but would like to get some feedback. I also would once again ask that comments contain facts, no personal attacks and stay on topic.

As we descend in economic collapse and chaos, remember our children and why we fight. The rule of law must be reinstated and order maintained. This will not be easy as our morality in this nation has been greatly degraded. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, find people of good character and rebuild a moral country. The purpose of this post is to start organizing and evaluating people now in your AO. One person sowing discontent can destroy any positive progress in a short period of time.

    1. If, At This Point …

      … you’re not disgusted, you’re brain dead.

      h/t WRSA

This must be the “white privilege” they talk so much about.

    2. Responsibility

The prison you despise was not built by fate, but by the excuses you chose to defend.

      One decision.
      One compromise.
      One rationalization at a time.

      Every excuse lays another stone.
Every act of discipline removes one.

Freedom is earned through responsibility, not comfort.

    3. It Just Keeps Getting Worse

    4. NC Property Taxes

Wake County’s county property tax rate (the county portion of the millage rate) for the 2026-2027 fiscal year is 53.71 cents per $100 of assessed property value.

Compare this rate to my county’s rate:

Cherokee County, North Carolina’s county property tax rate (county ad valorem/mill rate) is 61.0 cents per $100 of assessed property value (or $0.61 per $100).

    5. Do Not Let Murder Become Acceptable

Serious question: are we at the point where our only justice is provided by citizen vigilantes?

    6. A Simple Solution

A simple solution to this national disgrace: hold district attorneys and judges accountable for the crimes committed for the people that they release.

It is also pathetic that district attorneys were “selected” by George Soros and/or with funding from US NGOs.

      From Grok:

George Soros and affiliated organizations have provided substantial financial support—primarily through independent expenditures by PACs and political groups—to numerous progressive district attorney (DA) or equivalent prosecutor candidates across the US.

This support, estimated by trackers at $40–50 million over roughly a decade, has often constituted the majority (sometimes 80–90%) of outside spending for these candidates in targeted races. Funding typically flows through state-level or national PACs/527 groups (e.g., various “Justice & Public Safety” PACs and Color of Change PAC) that receive major donations from Soros personally. These groups then run ads, mailers, and other independent expenditures rather than giving directly to campaigns in many cases.

Open Society Foundations (OSF), Soros’s main philanthropic vehicle, focuses on policy grants, research, and advocacy for criminal justice reform rather than direct candidate contributions (consistent with 501(c)(3) rules). Direct political spending occurs via separate entities funded by Soros’s personal wealth or affiliated groups.

      Documented Prominent Examples

Here are notable cases with specific evidence from campaign disclosures and reporting:

      • Larry Krasner (Philadelphia DA, PA): Approximately $1.7 million in his 2017 primary campaign from the Pennsylvania Justice & Public Safety PAC (heavily funded by Soros). This represented the vast majority of his outside support; he won the Democratic primary (which is decisive in Philadelphia). Additional Soros-linked funding supported his re-election.
      • George GascĂłn (Los Angeles County DA, CA): Significant support in his 2020 successful campaign against incumbent Jackie Lacey, with reports citing roughly $4.7 million (or more) from the California Justice & Public Safety PAC.
      • Kim Foxx (Cook County State’s Attorney, IL): Substantial Soros-linked support in her 2016 primary victory over incumbent Anita Alvarez.
      • Diana Becton (Contra Costa County DA, CA): Backed via California Justice & Public Safety PAC efforts around 2018.

Earlier examples (around 2015–2016, per contemporaneous reporting):

      • Aramis Ayala (Central Florida State Attorney) — nearly $1.4 million.
      • James Stewart (Caddo Parish, LA) — over $930,000.
      • Scott Colom (eastern Mississippi counties) and Robert Shuler Smith (Hinds County, MS).
      • Raul Torrez (Bernalillo County, NM) — $107,000.
      • Harris County (Houston), TX — funded but unsuccessful.

      Broader List from Trackers

Advocacy groups tracking this (primarily law enforcement-oriented organizations like the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund) have compiled lists of 50–75 prosecutors they classify as “Soros-backed” based on substantial support from Soros-funded groups or affiliated networks. Examples include:

      • Alvin Bragg (Manhattan DA, NY) — indirect via Color of Change PAC (which received a large Soros donation around the time of its support for Bragg).
      • Pamela Price (Alameda County, CA).
      • JosĂ© Garza (Travis County, TX).
      • Mike Schmidt (Multnomah County/Portland, OR).
      • Others such as Kim Gardner (St. Louis), Monique Worrell (Orange County, FL area), Steve Descano (Fairfax County, VA), Parisa Dehghani-Tafti (Arlington County, VA), Satana DeBerry (Durham County, NC), and more across states like Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, Maine, and Oregon.

Chesa Boudin (former San Francisco DA, recalled in 2022) appears on some lists due to associated donors and reform networks, though direct Soros PAC expenditures were not the primary factor in all reporting.

      US NGOs and Broader Context

Beyond Soros personally, various US NGOs and foundations (e.g., those connected to criminal justice reform efforts) have funded policy advocacy, training programs (such as Fair and Just Prosecution), bail reform initiatives, and related groups that support or align with progressive prosecutor candidates. Direct campaign contributions by pure 501(c)(3) NGOs are restricted, so support is often indirect through affiliated PACs, donor networks, or organizations like Color of Change.Soros/OSF stands out for the scale and targeting of local prosecutor races as a strategy to influence criminal justice policy (e.g., emphasis on diversion, reduced cash bail for certain offenses, and prosecutorial discretion). Other major foundations have contributed to the broader reform ecosystem, but Soros’s role receives the most attention due to the concentration of spending in specific races.
