   In our state local laws allow small processing-sales.

   Something the States should tell the Feds more often BTW.

   That Trump makes this an announcement is nice but why?

   The logistics of processing-grading-getting Inspections done in a reefer scenario (Ranchers DON’T have Massive Freezer Rooms just WAITING for this “announcement”) then MARKETING and Shipping..

   Is not in the real world available today.

   As useful as rainboots on a duck announcement.

   BTW if Trump is bypassing Inspections is it to ALLOW low grade South American Beef into the system to the great annoyance of American Ranchers.

   BTW even China has standards they refused Argentinian Beef recently:

   China has rejected a 22‑ton shipment of Argentine beef after its customs tests detected residues of chloramphenicol, an antibiotic banned for use in livestock in both Argentina and China due to serious human health risks

   . The shipment came from ArreBeef’s plant in Pérez Millán, Buenos Aires province, and was stopped by Chinese authorities on March 19, 2026. China then suspended all imports from that facility pending a full investigation

   A bit like the previous one this week about the Grid and “No Foreign (aka China) parts will be allowed any more” nonsense.

   We don’t make enough parts for our grid to keep up with minor storm damage let alone any “improvements”. SOMEBODY (ahem) destroyed Germanys ability to make enough grid stuff by destroying the cheap Russian gas lines..

   So much WINNING….

      I hope you are correct. The domestic supply of beef in the US is very low due to the monopoly and foreign owners.

      Here is Grok’s synopsis:

      Trump signaled he’s open to easing beef-processing rules so more ranchers and small plants can slaughter cattle themselves.

      That won’t drop grocery prices fast.

      The bottleneck is cattle numbers, not slaughter slots. The herd is at a 75-year low. Packers already have unused capacity.

      Existing small plants might process more of today’s cattle in months. New plants take 1–3 years. Extra beef from herd rebuilding takes until 2028–29.

      Short-term price relief is coming from imports, not deregulation. Processing changes are a long-term rancher/competition play, not a 90-day fix.
