Swan Song

This will be my final post on Appalachian Renegades. My motives here have been explained previously; to attempt to encourage critical thinking, to get all freedom loving people to unite, regardless of their personal spiritual paths, and to expose the reader to historical events which they may have been unaware. To some, the historical truths I have offered were taken as an attack on their religion.

Unfortunately, too many have closed minds. Too many are unwilling to come together as a Folk, regardless of religion or the lack of it, to fight the battle against evil together. Too many insist that those attempting to encourage unity and offer historical truth are ‘divisive’ because we don’t agree about religion. So long as this disunity prevails, we will accomplish little.

I have decided to spend more time preparing my local community for what now appears to be an economic collapse and/or war. Those who are not awake, at this point, are not likely to awaken before it’s too late. Good luck to them – standing alone against the tide, or in small and getting smaller groups. They are of little to no use to the Folk.

  1. I have watched your posts with keen interest these past weeks and months. Even though you were always up-front and honest about your purpose, and invited open dialogue at every turn, few undertook the challenge. Unfortunately, this is the way of things in our atomized and divided country. The signs are everywhere yet many fail to recognize or are simply unable to process.

I welcome your continued drive to engage in critical thinking over a broad span of topics and will see you over on Telegram. And I thank David for providing you space to foster dialogue with uncomfortable information and questions. Some have benefited and sought out their own answers, and that must serve as a measure of accomplishment.

Fair winds and following seas, Roth. I’ll catch you on the flip side.

  2. Godspeed Roth

  3. Sorry to see you go, especially for those reasons. The folks that are militantly religious will probably find it next to impossible to build the necessary community to survive the coming storm. Following The Way is a difficult path that requires critical thinking skills and mostly being willing to listen to people and understand where they are at before speaking. And if they are willing to ask them questions about the deeper, most important things in life.

  4. Good luck, I am in similar situation as Mayor of our small town. Thinking ahead for the future.
10% of the population do 90% of the work.
10% of the population do 90% of the bitching.
They are not the same 10%.
Do not seek someones approval, if would not seek their advice.

  5. I believe much that provides lack of unity lies within the nearly constant brow beating we all receive nearly every second of everyday when exposed -or left alone- by outside forces, primarily those in government and the ruling oligarchy, giving a constant regulation to everything. Many have a consistent “on guard” approach to nearly everything trying to shield away the bombardment of evil intent by the aforementioned. While the mind is attempting to shield itself, much is turned away -good and bad-. Opinions become hardened in an attempt to protect oneself. Society has been given an exponential increase of “crisis” for a very very long time. The remedy is not a singularity provided by anyone. Perhaps an open door policy of ideas is a good approach, I don’t know. Nature and dirt therapy (gardening) has brought me openness and spirituality. God bless and take care.

    1. Government organized “crisis”, apply the wrong solution, make money.

Got rid of 2 condemned buildings, killed a few thousand people. Hauled all the debris to a 3rd world country. Started a war with someone else. Throw a few $TRILLION at it. Sent 4000 others to die.

The 2 largest insurance payouts ever, Titanic, and 9/11.

The cycle has occurred many times.

      1. Yes. And the frequency of such is increasing. “Crisis is the rallying cry of a tyrant” -Mr. Madison. A people on edge do not take input well, good or bad. It saddens me to see good intentions pushed away. I do understand that much is due to the self defense mechanism.

  6. Godspeed Roth. Keep your rifle by your side.

  7. Thanks for your intel, hate to see you leave. Take care!

Understand the issue and have encountered the same issues here. Doing what you are doing. Friends and allies in NWMO.

  9. Enjoyed your essays and saw the truth in everyone. You can lead people to knowledge but you can’t make them think.

  10. Well Brother no one can say you didn’t try and do your best to try and get people to think and take their own side… Ignorance and Insanity rule the Clown World we are all living in…Godspeed Brother…

  11. Hey Roth, If we had serious trouble coming to our neighborhood I think you would be mine and I would be yours in great effort. Sans a great and immediate evil, I would follow His words and not be unevenly yoked. You ponder much but, ignore the Gospel of Jesus which leads to life

  12. My best to you, and my appreciation for your attempts at inculcating some critical thought with your posts. That is, regrettably, not a capability widely held in our society today. Largely because the entire system has been designed to beat the capacity for critical thinking out of the masses. Education, mass media, and prevailing social trends are all geared toward creating compliant masses, who will attack any attempt at changing their programmed POV with knee jerk reactions. So it is that those who try to challenge the mainstream are constantly marginalized for their efforts.

I’ve experienced the same in putting forth some of my ideas and beliefs at a much smaller scale. And so I’ve gotten to a place where I do so less and less, because it has come to feel a waste of time and effort. No one can stand against the onslaught forever, and eventually we learn to stop wasting resources where they don’t make a discernable difference, and instead focus on what can be realistically accomplished. It sounds as if you’ve reached that juncture.

  13. Said it once and I will say it again… our challenge is far far greater than what our founding fathers faced. The inundation permeating every aspect of our lives by evil has taken a great toll. The greatest (in my opinion) is closing of the mind due to self defense. There is a better and grand way we can live and prosper. An open mind to thinking, deep thought, is the key to taking away the locks available to evil.

I have enjoyed your thought-provoking articles. I often wonder if the Romans and Christian missionaries had left the Germans and the Norse peoples alone, how they might have turned out. In any event, your decision to prepare for what is looming on the horizon is very smart and in line with the way I am thinking today. Bleib ubrig.

Consider that not all who disagree with you are lacking in critical thinking; it tends to choke your ability to see other points of view, and may be an indicator that you yourself are lacking in critical thinking. Wish you well, and hope that you meet the Living God before you have to stand in front of Him at judgment.

  16. I have appreciated your contribution to the folks that wish to remain or just start being free.
Your words have resonated with me but unfortunately I cannot find even a few like minds, so sorry.
You will be missed and I hope to see you on the other side.

Thank you, Roth, for bringing the wisdom of the Old Ways to these pages. This approach to spiritual unity extends far into the past, exceeding the the reign of Jesus by orders of magnitude.

I came late in life to the teachings of Jesus, having followed the Old Ways according to my DNA (German, Scottish and Cherokee), a blend of earthy beliefs from long ago.

The Bible was always a struggle for me until I saw it clearly for what it is, a chronicle of a part of the spritual evolution of Man.

Once I was able to understand that the old testament was NOT a Christian document at all, and in fact, as anti-Christian as can be, it became a simple matter to follow the teachings of Jesus.

When one does this, and truly understands that the Old Ways are just as opposed to the Zionist manifesto, as are the lessons of Jesus, it is easy to choose a side in the eternal struggle against evil.

It is indeed time to look towards our homes and families as trouble draws near, and to accept our allies as they are, not as the enemies of truth name them.

    Travel safely,

    Paul

  18. This is too bad, your research, insight and input have been invaluable. I really wish you would discard the detractors’ comments and reconsider. You have helped all of us greatly, even the naysayers whether they like it or not.

  19. Roth, thank you for taking the time and trying. Everyone should at least try 1 last time and after that just let go and fall back to preparing your own for what’s inevitable now.

Its gotten to the point of not being worth it anymore, standing up and speaking the truth or pushing true critical thinking gets you attacked by all sides by people claiming to be on the same side.

  20. Gracias amigo – vaya con Dios.

  21. Once again, Roth, I hate to see you go. I would encourage you to stay. Other than your paganism we do have a lot in common. When you piss me off it always makes me think, which is valuable. As to the Paganism, repentance is always available and it is my hope for you. What you have put forth regarding the old ways is valuable, but i would point out what one of the worlds greatest historians had to say about it in the context of the letters and literacy.:
“Of these arts, the ancient Germans were wretchedly destitute They passed their lives in a state of ignorance and poverty, which has pleased some disclaimers to dignify with the appellation of virtuous simplicity”. – 1787 by Edward Gibbons, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. the chapter on “State of Germany until the Barbarians”.
For disclosure purposes my heritage is overwhelmingly German. I am 10th generation American but both of my grandmothers were of pure German extraction and there is heavy German /Dutch heritage on my paternal sides. I am clearly no anti German.

  22. PS: Great GIF, thanks, Jim Morrison really had his moments, but that is not a swan….

  23. Sorry to see you go but as long as you keep trying to get some people to think you are doing well, best of luck to you and yours and perhaps visit sometime.

  24. The unfortunate reality facing us is that to few understand that” indeed we must all hang together, or we will all hang separately”.

  25. Keep your powder dry and watch your topknot!

Been saying for years, let’s fix our country first, then worry about our religious differences later. Seems some folks are bound to have it their way or no way.
