   64 Question is when is it more detrimental to hold it all together instead of letting in crash and burn and starting fresh…I think its pretty close if not already time…

      That’s about where I’m at. Letting it fail is going to suck badly for those of us who do the actual work of keeping society running and livable. But it will be absolutely brutal for the spoiled, soft, whiny, insufferable twats who get to enjoy the fruits of our labor, but still bitch and moan in their endless entitlement. Many of them will be destroyed by the collapse, and to be quite honest, I’d be ok with that outcome. I’m tired of them all being propped up and enabled, while the truly capable keep busting our asses for diminishing return.

         Think you will be able to survive along with your people Brother when the lights do go out and don’t come back on…I hope you have everything in place to make that happen…It’s why I constantly bang the drum of having our Homeland again because I want the most of us to survive that can…I had to be the pioneer for my family I wish others could as well..

            Honestly, no idea if I can survive what I figure is coming. I have laid in what preps I think prudent, within the ability of my budget and storage space to accommodate those, and have developed useful and practical skills that give me a leg up. That said, fixed fortifications are essentially useless in such a scenario, unless one is so far out in the sticks, and well concealed from roads, railroad tracks, etc., that you are unlikely to be readily found until after the mass die off is well underway.

            Even that would be a difficult position to defend against an onslaught of even just 10-15 desperate people looking for water, food, meds, etc., (or just to kill and cause mayhem for it’s own sake) so one has to plan to be mobile with an initial pack out and field skills neccessary to have a solid shot at survival. All bets are off really, since one brief encounter with the wrong urban refugee can be an instant game over in those circumstances. I think for most, survival will be more down to luck, than to preplanning. The one real advantage those of us in this mindset have is that we are fully expecting collapse. Most NPC’s are – and will remain – clueless, right up until reality bludgeons them. Most will also be too slow to let go of the status quo (expecting the crisis to abate quickly) that they will be victims in short order.
