A winter storm can be predicted and people can make preparations for its impact. What would happen if a world war or a civil war disrupted all transportation/deliveries for an undetermined period of time? Now factor in the blue hive cities and their population distributions.
We are 24-48 hours away from uncontrolled chaos in our major metropolitan areas. This should serve as a warning sign.

this doesn’t surprise me, people are insane and will run out at when there told to by the fake news media about storms and other Bull crap nonsense and the people suck it right up. why would this even be going on in Asheville, don’t they get storms all the time in the winter up there. nothing has changed at all so, what is making these lunatics wipe everything off the shelves. I saw this in area when I went to Publix the same exact thing, All the produce was gone as well as the bread and sweet items. I asked the produce manager what is wrong with these people, he told me this was the worse he has seen this in our area and for what 2- 3 inches of snow with ice, I have seen that hear many times and the loons didn’t wipe everything from the shelves.
If you refuse to acknowledge weather modification in this country, you deserve your house falling on your head period. Tornadoes, hurricanes, twenty four inches of rain in one night, Trump must be aware of this or he is dumber than I thought. Read patents on weather modification.Been there since nineteen sixty three.

The Weather Channel and local weather peeps now report on every storm being “The Storm Of The Century.” It’s winter. It’s cold, rainy, icy, snowy. Jeez!
No supplies stocked up? Nothing in the larder?

Running out to buy a snow shovel? What happened to it after the last snowfall?

I really have to wonder how many people who do this are just panic buying as a rote response to the days long hype of an incoming winter storm (even though they have a stocked pantry, refrigerator and maybe even deep freeze at their disposal) and how many are buying out of necessity, because they have virtually nothing on hand at home. In this era where eating out has gotten so outrageously expensive, I’d think more people are stocking food at home to prepare their own meals, but suppose there are still many who keep an absolute bare minimum of food on hand.
And while Iunderstand there are those who cannot afford to buy and keep a deep stock at home, neither are they the ones going out and panic buying large amounts of milk, bread, eggs and junk food right before an event like this captures the attention of the public.
Irrespective of the underlying reason, it does aptly demonstrate that the herd mentality prevails far too much in our society. Which is no news, as this behavior has been evident most of my lifetime of over 50 years now. It has most assuredly gotten markedly worse in the last decade or two, however. COVID was the high watermark for this idiocy, so far, anyway.
At least I can make it back to the barn to milk the cow, bring it in to make mozzarella cheese, and cook up some pizza in the wood stove.
