Chuck Edwards

“Despite the blatant tyranny, the House voted 268-164 to continue to give the government the power to shut off your cars.

57 GOPers rejected Massie’s amendment along with almost every Democrat, a development which Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) called “unbelievably disturbing.”

“Unbelievably disturbing,” Self wrote. “57 House Republicans just joined almost all the Democrats to ensure the government can shut off your car whenever it wants.””

  1. My old truck is not old enough but they’ll have to use an EMP to shut it down…

If the government can turn off your vehicles, so can hackers. There is no foolproof monitoring system that is without flaw and when a mistake is made by AI and you’re stranded in -20 degree weather with your kids in the car, who cares. Will the engine erroneously turn off while you’re driving in the fast lane with no option to get off the highway? Yes, we know the true purpose of this law but then again, once all vehicles are driven by AI it won’t matter and we can ride along in a drug-induced, alcoholic stupor with a grin on our stupid faces.

  3. Proof, for those still debating whether your government really wants total control over you, or if thats just tinfoil hat nonsense, would be the passage of this bill.
Yeah, oldsr cars will retain their value.

  4. The first thing anyone owning a newer vehicle with remote telematics should do is to find it’s antenna, and disconnect it. At least that negates the ability of the car to communicate with the cellular network. The future will likely see the emergence of hacks that can be utilized to sanitize any stored data before it is sent to home base, and possibly prevent remote interference in operation of the vehicle, for those who take the initiative to locate and utilize such information. Most NPC’s won’t avail themselves of this, so will continue to be victims of the system.

  5. Might as well just vote for the Dem if they are gonna keep this up. I will not vote for wimpy whatley so if he’s forced on us like every other candidate I will sit this one out.

  6. Congressman Chuck Edwards lives in his own RINO bubble. I send him e mails when he votes stupid, like this one. I am sick of him claiming to be for WNC values, he has Asheville / DC thoughts of being important.

  7. We had a 2009 Santa Fe Hyundai with a good 247,000 miles well taken care of maintained, ran great, traded it yesterday n for a 2018 Santa Fe Sport just wanted a newer less mileage vehicle. So, probably should have kept the older 09 but we didn’t want to have future concerns guess we should have kept the 09 a bit longer. But the government is so damn messy corrupt and big that it really doesn’t matter much anymore these days they can pretty much shut you down without much force. The entire system is imbedded, lined up within corrupt individuals who will do as needed to remove anyone who stands for the goodness or our country as founded and decent human rights. Just my opinion.

  8. Does anyone know makes or models this has been installed on? Just bought a 2024 dodge ram 2500.
