Well, if Japan can do it, then so can we. Our House of Representatives is more damaging than it is useful. I know nothing of Japan’s government so does this mean they will be ruled by an emperor for a while?

    1. Japan’s government is comprised of Japanese people (such a novel concept, eh?) Ours is overrun with foreign invaders and dual citizens who have improperly been granted both citizenship, and the franchise to vote and hold office. TLDR, Japan can do this because they still control their own country. We don’t, so a dissolution of the government now will require the same measures it did the last time tyranny was thrown off here, 250 years ago.

      1. Yes, the dual citizens MUST be removed from EVERY government position nationwide.

  2. There are probably plenty of arguments against a parliamentary system of “representation.” But from where I sit, I see NEW parties rising up in a decade or less to not only gain seats (and thus ACTUALLY REPRESENT CITIZENS and THEIR VALUES), but even take over control of the government. NOTHING in the US has fundamentally changed with these two worthless parties since 1860 when the Whigs became the GOP. The only real changes were the adoption of PROGRESSIVE IDEOLOGY by BOTH, the lack of concern for America by BOTH, and THOUSANDS of ballot access laws passed in EVERY STATE, that work diligently to make sure that NO REAL COMPETITION can make into onto any ballot anywhere. Do you realize that in the state of GA, NO 3rd party candidate for US House has been able to overcome the ballot access hurdles since 1935!!! 91 years!!!

I’ve already covered the fact that the massive destruction of representation in the US House (435 members versus 11,400 if equal representation to what we started with was RESTORED), makes us the SECOND LEAST REPRESENTED NATION ON EARTH.

But the fact that a “vote of no confidence” can completely dissolve a government, force new elections, and provide a NEW opportunity for the voters to undo the mistakes of the previous election, says a lot too. But of course the founding fathers NEVER envisioned political parties, figuring instead that all would agree on the major principles of limited government and freedom, so Americans would never be threatened by their government. LOL

    1. Agreed on restoring proper representation, we’d need a new capitol building to accommodate those numbers. Go back to the original method of choosing Senators via State legislatures. And outlaw political parties.

      1. A note on the 17th amendment issue. By the time it was passed, Progressivism had so taken hold in the US, that a majority of states were already holding popular elections and simply having the legislature rubber stamp the election results. I don’t disagree that popular election of Senators undermined the power of the states and their legislatures and completely changed the nature of the Senate and they answered to…but horrible politicians have ways of getting around things.

  3. The executive, legislative and judicial branches of our constitutional republic no longer represent “we the people” because the people of this constitutional republic can no longer be defined as E pluribus unum.
