Yes, the FF knew. But the FF are long gone. The Ruling Class has destroyed America by giving the ignorant sheeple exactly what the narrator said: comfortable slogans. And all of the government schools have erased critical thinking.
I just witnessed this in our last local election here in Kootenai County. The mayoral winners in CDA and PF gave promises and slogans. From what is going on over in Little Portland (Coeur d’Alene), the rise in their property taxes will be huge. I have yet to find a local political hack who is not for sale to the highest bidder. Life is a vale of tears.
Representation doesn’t work either. We started with 1 US House member for every 30,000 citizens, and when you account for no voting by blacks, women, or anyone under 21, that’s a hell of a small number of people being represented in the House by each member. NOW, it is 1 for every 750,000 to over 1,000,000 citizens. The US is the SECOND LEAST represented nation ON EARTH!!! If we were to have JUST THE SAME level of representation as we started with, the US House would need to increase to 11,400 members versus the current 435. And who STOLE ALL THAT REPRESENTATION FROM US???? The Members of the US House and Senate.
And obviously a Constitutional Republic means nothing either, as they haven’t given a damn about the Constitution since the minute the INK WAS DRY.
GOVERNMENT ITSELF is the problem, not how you get to it. The MINUTE to except the premise that one person, for whatever reason/justification has the “RIGHT” to rule over someone else, you have doomed yourself to SLAVERY to another.
