      It happened in 1860/1865 by many measures, for sure when Teddy went after Spain in the late 1800s, and the Bankster takeover in 1913 certainly added to the case.

         Agreed. Based on events, 1913 was, at the very latest, when the transition to empire was cast in stone. International realities post WWII served only to reinforce it further.
